Forbidden Night Movie Synopsis


The movie “Malam Terlarang” tells the story of Mawar, an 18-year-old girl who put off her dream of becoming a journalist to take care of her mother (Sarimah) with the help of her half-sister, Safar.
However, Mawar’s life changes after a sudden death in his family causes the disturbance of a mysterious creature that forces Mawar to investigate the secret behind the tragedy.
At the same time, his father, Omar, was busy in a political campaign to overthrow the leader of his party, Haji Wahid.
The deeper Mawar investigates, he is faced with horrific paranormal events that are often taken for granted by his family members.


Finally, Mawar and Omar have to face the real enemy to free themselves from the grip of the dark forces that haunt their lives.
The film is set in the 1987 era and successfully combines elements of horror, politics and family conflict with intense and mysterious storytelling.
The audience is taken to immerse themselves in the tension that is not only from supernatural phenomena but also the emotional dilemma and struggle of this family member to face the challenges of life and the dark forces that are silent but real.
