About the Initial Distribution Scheme to IPT
The IPT Initial Distribution Scheme is an initiative to help students and parents cover the initial cost of registration to IPT.
The scheme has been introduced since 2007 and is constantly being improved from time to time to ensure its relevance and ability to meet the current needs of students.
But now, its implementation has been comprehensively expanded to include students from Form 6 to Bachelor’s Degrees, both in and out of the country.
In fact, starting in 2024, the scheme will also be extended to polytechnic students as part of efforts to expand access to educational assistance.
The scheme is a one-off assistance given to applicants who meet the specified conditions and criteria.
This scheme aims to ease the financial burden in the early stages of studies as well as help students prepare for the new academic session with more confidence and order.
Amount of Assistance
The amount of aid given is according to the level of study as follows:
- Certificate / Matriculation / Form 6: RM800
- Vocational Diploma: RM900
- Diploma : RM1,000
- Bachelor’s Degree : RM1,200
- Bachelor’s Degree (Overseas): RM2,500
Additional Assistance: Vang students get IPT offers in the country of placement in Sabah
or Sarawak is eligible to receive an additional amount of RM200.00 for each category above.
Eligibility Conditions
The eligibility conditions to apply for this scheme are as follows:
- Muslim.
- Malaysian citizens.
- Permanent resident in Penang for at least 12 months.
- Do not receive zakat aid from other countries.
- Applications are only considered for first-time studies for each level of study.
- Application is valid within 6 months from the date of registration
- Applications must be for full-time studies only.
- The duration of study must be one year and above.
