What is the 2025 Tun Ali Cup

Tun Ali Cup 2025 is a prestigious annual sepak takraw tournament that brings together the best teams in the country.

The main purpose of this tournament is to raise the status of sepak takraw in Malaysia by providing a competitive and professional competition platform for players from various states.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from 3 to 9 November 2025 in Bukit Serindit, Malacca. There are two main events contested which are squads and quadrants including men’s and women’s categories.

The Tun Ali Cup is also considered as a continuation of the success of teams that play in the Sepak Takraw League (STL) and is a field for talent and exposure to players, including the opportunity to play at the international level.

State teams such as Perak Bison have voiced their aim to at least reach the finals in the 2025 Tun Ali Cup.

The categories that are contested are Men’s Squad, Women’s Squad and Men’s Quadrant.

Match Format

As in previous years, the match format is to follow the following match structure:

• Preliminary Stage (Group Round): Teams are divided into groups and compete in a league with each other. Group champions will qualify for the next round.

• Finals (Knockout): Qualified teams will compete in a knockout, starting from the quarter-finals, semi-finals, until the final. The champion and runner-up teams of the group will be placed on opposite sides of the round to ensure the balance of the competition.

• Number of Matches: Each team can compete no more than three matches a day with a minimum rest period of 30 minutes between one match and the next.

• Special Rules: Players must wear uniform jerseys with front and back numbers and an arm band for the captain. For the veteran category, players are also allowed to wear 3 quarter pants with the uniform color. The decision and judgment system is final by the management committee and referees.

This format ensures that the competition is fair and orderly, giving teams the opportunity to demonstrate their strategy and skills in a highly competitive atmosphere.​​

Tickets for the 2025 Tun Ali Cup scheduled to take place in Bukit Serindit, Melaka can be purchased at the Hall Entrance.

• Ticket prices are as follows:
  • Adult – RM10.00
  • Children – RM5.00
