SKAS 2026 (Sarawak Basic Need Contribution)

The government announced an increase in the Sarawak Basic Needs Contribution (SKAS 2026) financial assistance in the form of digital vouchers that can be used through the S Pay Global application (e-wallet) to purchase basic food items. SKAS Phase 1will begin to be distributed to eligible recipients beginning 10 Mac 2026. Status checks can be made through the Sarawak Government’s official Portal, namely Pengkreditan, which can also be checked directly through the SPay Global application.

Household recipients earning RM5,000 and below will receive RM950, while single recipients earning RM2,500 and below will receive RM300.

For senior citizens without a spouse or children with an income of RM5,000 and below, they will receive RM500.

Sarawak’s Basic Needs Contribution (SKAS) will begin to be distributed to eligible recipients from March 10 through the SPay Global platform.

Citing the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) report, the matter was informed at the Coordination Meeting of the SKAS Launch Ceremony at the Kapit Division level held at the Kapit State Government Complex to ensure that the implementation of the program runs smoothly, in an orderly manner and achieves the set targets.

Kapit Division Acting Resident, Robert Liman Deli said close coordination is very important to ensure aid can be credited to recipients without any confusion or technical problems.

According to him, the integrated cooperation between all agencies involved needs to be strengthened, especially involving technical aspects, logistics as well as dissemination of information to the target group.

“Early coordination is very important to avoid any confusion, especially involving technical matters, logistics and the dissemination of information to the recipient,” he said when chairing the meeting today.

UKAS also reported that the Sarawak Level SKAS Launch Ceremony is scheduled to take place in Kuching on March 7.

Accordingly, the recipients are reminded to ensure that their respective SPay Global applications are active and accessible to confirm the receipt of aid.

What is SKAS 2026?

SKAS is financial assistance in the form of digital vouchers that can be used through the S Pay Global application (e-wallet) to purchase basic food items.

According to Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari, the SKAS allocated RM640 million next year is expected to benefit approximately more than one million beneficiaries.

Eligibility Requirements & Recipient Categories

  • A Sarawakian K ID holder who has an address and resides in Sarawak;
  • Recipient information is based on the updated Rahmah Cash Donation (STR) data
  • Eligible recipients are divided into Households, Singles and Seniors with no spouse and no children.

Recipient Category

A) Home Contents Category

  • Married; or
  • Single Mother or Father/Widow/Widow/Widow who has dependents (children/parents);
  • Gross monthly income of RM5,000 and below; and
  • No age limit.

B) Single Category

  • Single; or
  • Single Mother or Father/Widow/Widow/Widow who has no dependents;
  • Monthly gross income of RM2,500 and below; and
  • The age limit is 21-59 years; and
  • Single Persons with Disabilities (OKU) aged 19 years and above; and
  • Not a full-time Public Institute of Higher Education (IPTA) / Private Institute of Higher Education (IPTS) student.

C) Golden Citizen Category

  • Single; or
  • Single Mother or Father/Widow/Widow/Widow who has no children;
  • Monthly gross income of RM5,000 and below; and
  • Age limit 60 years and above.

2026 SKAS Assistance Amount

The Sarawak Basic Needs Donation (SKAS) assistance value is between RM250 to RM800 depending on the recipient category that has been approved. The amount of SKAS assistance that will be received is as follows:

  • Recipient home contents category with an income of RM5,000 and below will receive valuable assistance RM950 per year. (Payable in 3 phases, meaning RM316 per phase)
  • Recipient single categorywith an income of RM2,500 and below will receive valuable assistance RM300 a year. (Payable in 3 phases, meaning RM100 per phase)
  • Recipient category of golden citizens without spouse/childrenwith an income of RM5,000 and below will receive valuable assistance RM500 per year. (Payable in 3 phases, meaning RM166 per phase)

SKAS Phase 1 Payment Date

LATEST : SKAS Phase 1 will be credited to the Spay Global account starting 10.03.2026. (Tuesday)

Aid will be distributed 3 times a year, which is once every 4 months.
