The Takraw League (STL) 2025 will open it on May 28, 2025, with a new format that attracts local sports fans. The launch ceremony was held on May 20, 2025.

The STL 2025 launch ceremony was launched by YB Hannah Yeoh (Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia) at Berjaya Times Square, Jalan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur.

This year, the event will bring more action, intense competition, and exciting moments.

The following are the match schedules, group lists, and ways to watch the League live broadcast.

Introduction of Sepak Takraw League

The Takraw Football League (STL) is a Takraw Professional League that is recommended in Malaysia.

The league was established on November 7, 2014 with the aim of developing local sepak takraw talent and promoting the sport to a higher level.

STL 2025 introduces a new qualifying system that divides the team into first and second grade after the group stage.

Only the first class team will be eligible for the title, while the second class will compete for fifth to eighth. This format is expected to enhance the intensity and thrill the match for fans.

This season (2025), there are six Grand Prix series in six different locations, including the addition of a Grand Prix in Negeri Sembilan, making the whole more attractive and competitive.

Celcomdigi was announced as the main sponsor of the STL 2025, replacing the sponsor previously.

STL Match Schedule 2025

STL 2025 features three main categories: STL Division 1, STL Premier, and STL Champions Cup.

The STL will start with Div 1 competition from May 28, 2025 to 01 June 2025 at Sukpa Stadium, Kuantan, Pahang to find 2 more champions and runner -ups to compete in Premier 2025.

The Premier competition will start at GP1 from June 17, 2025 at Gong Rhinoceros Stadium, Kuala Terengganu, GP2 at N9 Arena, Nilai, GP3 in Johor, GP4 in Kuala Lumpur, GP5 in Ipoh and GP6 in Penang.

The STL Champion Cup will also be contested on 27-31 August 2025 in Johor.

• Date: 09 – 13 Jul 2025
• Place: Larkin Arena, Johor Bahru, Johor.

Grand Prix 4

• Date: 29 Jul 2025 – 3 August 2025
• Place: Gong Rhinoceros Stadium, Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu.

Grand Prix 5

• Date: 13 – 17 August 2025
• Place: SERVICE STADIUM, IPOH, Silver.

Grand Prix 6

• Date: 20 – 24 August 2025
• Place: Spice Arena, Bayan Baru, Pinang Island.

STL Champions Cup 2025

• Date: 10 – 14 Sept 2025 / 17 – 21 Sept 2025
• Place:
  • Iskandar Malaysia Studio (IMS), Iskandar Puteri, Johor Darul Ta’zim.
  • Arena N9, Value, Negeri Sembilan.
• Participation: Four (4) The best forces of STL Premier 2025.

For enthusiasts who want to witness every direct resistance action, STL 2025 offers a choice of live streaming.

The match can be viewed through the Astro Arena 801 channel, stream at Astro Go & Sooka app starting May 28, 2025.

The Grand Prix STL 2025 location is scheduled to be in six different states:

Tickets for each grand prix are usually open a few weeks before the date of the event, with the seasonal pass open earlier than normal tickets.

• Tickets can also be physically purchased at certain locations depending on the announcement of the organizer.
