Introduction of Malaysia Cup 2026

The Malaysia Cup is the 99th edition of the most prestigious and oldest football tournament in Southeast Asia.

For this season, the tournament maintains a full knockout format that starts directly from the Round of 16.

The tournament begins with the round of 16 over two legs on 17-25 January 2026, followed by the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final on 23 May 2026 at the Bukit Jalil Stadium.

Teams that are eliminated in the Malaysia Cup Round of 16 will not go home empty-handed, instead they will automatically be placed into the MFL Challenge Cup 2025/2026 to win the championship.

Malaysia Cup Second Quarter Final Schedule 2025-2026

The Second Quarter-Final of the 2025-2026 Malaysia Cup will start this Saturday, February 14, 2026.

Meanwhile, the First Quarter Final match involving Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Melaka is scheduled to take place on Friday, 13 February 2026, following JDT’s involvement in the Shopee Cup and AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE).

The Malaysian Football League (MFL) confirmed the format of the Malaysia Cup this time with the involvement of 16 teams, namely 13 clubs from the Super League 2025-2026 and the top three teams of the A1 Semi-Pro League 2025-2026 after match day week 13.

The challenge begins in the round of 16 scheduled for 17-19 January 2026 (first leg) and 23-25 ​​January 2026 (second leg), followed by quarter-finals and semi-finals in a home-and-away format.
