Initial Assistance for Admission to Indian HEIs

The Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (MITRA) has opened applications for students from the Indian community to obtain Early Admission Assistance for IPT MITRA 5.0 2025.
The following is information and info about initial assistance for admission to this IPT.


About Initial Assistance for IPT MITRA 5.0 Admission
The initial assistance for admission to IPT is given specifically to students from the Indian community who are continuing their studies at IPT.
This assistance is targeted at HEI students from B40 families (including special needs students) who are qualified to start studying at HEI in the country.
This program is a one-off help for Indian students to prepare for admission to HEIs before obtaining financial resources from sponsors.
Apart from that, this assistance shows MITRA’s concern in carrying out its social responsibility for the good of Indian students from the B40 family.
Distribution Objectives
The objective of providing initial assistance for admission to IPT is to:
- Helps alleviate the high cost of living among B40 students
- Provide initial help for admission to IPT to students from B40 families before obtaining study funding/sponsorship.
Amount of Assistance
Every eligible Indian student will receive assistance on a case-by-case basis one-off as much as RM2,000 per person.
For disabled students (OKU), those who are eligible will receive a one-off assistance of RM3,000.
All financial aid will be channeled directly to students through their bank accounts and successful students will receive an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) notice via Short Message Service (SMS) or email from BSN.
Eligibility Conditions
The eligibility requirements for receiving this assistance are as follows:
- Students from families earning B40 (household income not exceeding RM5,250) and of Indian descent.
- First Year Diploma and Bachelor Degree students for the 2025/2026 academic session at Public and Private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the country.
- Active status as a full-time student at IPT for the 2025/2026 academic session.
- Students must have a bank account in their own name.
- Incomplete or non-compliant application forms will not be considered.
- The application closing date for this IPT MITRA (IPT 5.0 MITRA) Early Access Assistance Program is 16 November 2025 (Sunday).

The application must be accompanied by the following documents:
- A copy of the parent/guardian’s B40 document such as Rahmah Cash Donation Document (STR)/eKasih Document/Mysalam Document/Peka Document B40.
- Copy of the student’s identity card (Mykad) (front & back).
- A copy of the student’s birth certificate.
- Copy of OKU card (for students registered at the Social Welfare Department as OKU).
- Copy of confirmation letter/ valid bank account statement.
- A complete copy of the University/ College/ Polytechnic/ Accredited Center offer letter.
- A copy of the parent/guardian’s B40 document such as Rahmah Cash Donation Document (STR)/ eKasih Document/ Mysalam Document/ Peka B40 Document.
Frequently Asked Questions
Nope. Applicants must come from a B40 family which means the household does not exceed RM5,250.
This aid will be channeled directly through the student’s bank account.
Only 1st year students are eligible to apply for this assistance.
